Fair is a judgment call. Generally, I don’t think affirmative action is fair. I’ve heard convoluted defenses of it, but the convoluted part is a give away. Left means in favor of the bottom 80%, the big working class, and favoring a much more egalitarian distribution of income. I’m anti-globalization (but pro internationalism), and anti-identity politics (but pro civil rights). The bottom 80% in my country, the United States, will never defeat our economic elite unless we put aside identity politics differences and use our overwhelming numbers at the ballot box. I strongly recommend the same approach to citizens of other nations, but am consistently anti-imperialist and do not believe in telling you what to do.
